Our Client is one of the world's largest and most successful environmental consulting firms offering a range of compliance assurance, impact assessment planning, site investigation and remediation, and corporate advisory services.

The Sustainability, Energy & Climate Change Business is at an exciting period in its growth plans, and our Client is now looking for an experienced and well-respected consultant to lead our Energy & Climate Change team into our next phase of growth. Based within one of our Australian offices (Sydney or Melbourne preferred), you will join a respected global team and continue to develop the Australian Energy and Climate Change practice which comprises of projects throughout Australia and overseas. Your time will be spent as a key contributor in a team of specialists and playing a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a wide range of projects.

Key attributes we are seeking for this role include:
• More than 10 years consulting and/or industry experience in energy, climate change and related areas of work,
• Provision of leadership to our client's Energy & Climate Change team and its growth aspirations.
• Proven ability for strategic thinking and the development and implementation of business plans that drive growth.
• Experience and in-depth understanding of the Australian and New Zealand climate change regulatory and policy frameworks including the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS), Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) and Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS).
• Previous work in developing or influencing energy and climate change policy will be well regarded.
• Ability to support clients in assessing and understanding climate change risks, impacts and opportunities (be they physical, economic, legislative or social) upon their business activities.
• Client-facing approach with a strong Business Development and client management focus – a proven track record in Business Development will be well regarded.
• Ability to support growth and development into developing areas including resource efficiency and life cycle assessment (LCA).

You will be a degree qualified engineer with a passion for climate change and sustainability, an ability to lead and grow the climate change and sustainability team, develop business and advise clients on their regulatory commitments.
