Oil & Gas
As Australia is a net importer of Petroleum products and as oil prices are rocketing, it is no surprise that there is a plethora of new exploration permits and frenetic activity both upstream and downstream. Although there is more exploration yet to be done, Australia's proven oil and natural gas reserves have nearly doubled in recent years and the government is currently in the process of developing infrastructure to bring more of Australia's natural gas reserves to market.
Australia's oil reserves, mostly located offshore of the north-western and south-eastern parts of the country, are estimated at 3.5 billion barrels (Oil and Gas Journal, 1/1/04). Australia has shale oil reserves in Queensland estimated at as high as 30 billion barrels and Australia's natural gas reserves are estimated at 90 trillion cubic feet (Tcf), the largest reserve in the Asia Pacific region.
With world wide demand for quality oil and gas engineers at an all time high, AAAI's international contact network and market intelligence has never been in greater demand.
