AAAI are SEEK Finalists for 2005
Welcome to the 5th AAAI report.
For the second year in a row, AAAI have been nominated in the SEEK Annual Recruitment Awards and it's thanks to you that we have the honour of adding this achievement to our collection. This year we have been nominated as a finalist in the Niche Recruiter category as a result of all your votes and your continued support of our recruitment services. The awards will be announced on the evening of Wednesday 14th and we will inform you of our final placing.
AAAI prides itself on our frequent communication with both our clients and our candidates in order to ensure career fit and overall success in the placement of our candidates. It is our goal to respond to every request and correspondence we receive.
Therefore, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to contact me, either by phone or email, regarding a potential career move or in relation to injecting more challenges into their work life. The response to date has been very positive and I do invite candidates to continue to contact me directly by email at mike.hayes@aaai.com.au or call (02) 9439 2977 for a confidential discussion.
Western Australia and Queensland Site Engineers and Project Managers are needed for a major civil contractor!
AAAI have recently been awarded a major recruitment assignment for a large civil contractor who requires staff for several projects in Brisbane and WA, particularly in regional areas. We have been retained on an exclusive basis to recruit Site Engineers, Project Engineers, Fabrication Engineers, Project Managers, Senior Project Managers and Construction Managers for a total of nine roles. Three of these roles are located in Brisbane and the other six are based in WA with the roles being offered on a contract and/or permanent basis, or a FIFO with attractive contract rates and conditions.
The Queensland roles are being handled by Ken Bidgood and Peter Reynolds. The WA roles are being handled by Geoff Berry, our Resident WA Director, and Peter Reynolds. Candidates based in Victoria or Sydney are asked to contact me directly as I will be reviewing applications and coordinating interviews for those candidates who are looking for a career and lifestyle change. Engineers with experience in civil, structural, mechanical, mining, infrastructure and heavy engineering sectors with relevant on-site design and construction experience should apply now. To register your interest on our website, please visit www.aaai.com.au. If you would like further information about these roles and other work opportunities in Queensland or WA, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Newspaper and online advertisements are still extremely effective in attracting candidates.
In response to the client's needs and objectives, AAAI brainstorms an appropriate business strategy at the beginning of each new recruitment campaign. For management roles, the preferred mode of recruitment is to analyse the marketplace to identify key performers and achievements in the selected field and "head hunt" to determine if they are interested in a career move.
Press and Internet advertising can also be advantageous depending on:
- The client's willingness to advertise the position to the general public; and
- Whether the ideal candidate would prefer to apply for a position that is nationally advertised and not just specifically targeted to themselves. From AAAI's experience, press and Internet advertising is a powerful tool for targeting both active and passive readers in the job market.
Candidates are very astute when it comes to new work openings and what their competitors are doing. If you would like to know more about our executive search or advertised search and selection process, please either visit our website at www.aaai.com.au or call a consultant in your state for a general discussion.
Once again, thank you again for taking the time to read the AAAI Report and please recommend this report to any friends and colleagues whom you think who may be interested.
Regards,
Mike Hayes.
