A busy year ahead!

Welcome to the 9th edition of the AAAI Report.

I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break, even though I'm sure for most of you it feels like a distant memory! It is shaping up to be another busy year for AAAI going by the amount of enquiries, projects and announced work around Australia in the coming months. As a result, we are seeing a lot of activity in all our market sectors. Many jobs are available - from a design engineer in a large engineering professional services group to a General Manager for a major construction company.

This diversity in roles is due to a prosperous economy, anticipation of new projects and management initiatives for 2006. Demand for technical and professional engineers is also steady with the Financial Review predicting salary increases of up to 15% for most engineers due to the difficulty in retaining staff and maintaining motivation.

What is keeping you awake at night?

Ever thought about leaving your job but too afraid to make the leap into unfamiliar territory? Unhappy with new work prospects or promotional opportunities? Want more money but are unsure of your capabilities?

In our business, we find that these are some of the questions constantly plaguing our candidates. Therefore, one of the key services we provide is to help candidates look outside their current employer and match them with a new, more suitable position.

Candidates are also looking for more flexibility from the workplace in order to ensure a healthy balance of work, family and play. They are looking to work flexible hours and possibly from home knowing they have a company which supports them and the necessary tools to achieve this.

I would like to thank all the candidates who have registered on our database and requested regular updates of any suitable job openings. If you are interested in a change, I would encourage you to visit our website and browse through our latest jobs. Thank you for taking the time to read the AAAI Report and please feel free to recommend our services to any of your friends and colleagues.

Best regards,

Mike Hayes.
